Catalytic™ Risk Managers is one of the leading underwriters of property catastrophe insurance products in the United States. Specializing in commercial Builders Risk, Earthquake, Terrorism, Wind and All Perils and residential Earthquake insurance. Today, the company can offer per risk limits for Earthquake of up to $125 Million and up to $100 Million for Wind risks, making Catalytic one of the top capacity providers in the marketplace.
Catalytic was formed in 2013 when two well-regarded underwriting managers, San Diego based Align General that was founded in 2003 and Los Angeles based Western RE Managers that began operating in 1971, merged their property catastrophe businesses.
By combining two established property catastrophe underwriting businesses, Catalytic has been able to quickly leverage the experience and industry reputation of its expanded management and underwriting team from day one.
The Company has built on the long term capacity partnerships established by Western RE at Lloyd’s of London and in the domestic U.S. marketplace by Align to deliver a powerful combination of product and service capabilities to its wholesale broker partners. Our team draws on its wealth of underwriting and modeling expertise to develop well-underwritten, optimized portfolios of wind and earthquake DIC risks for its valued partners.
Our multi-carrier capacity model allows Catalytic to optimally utilize capacity and manage PML in a property catastrophe portfolio in order to meet the specific return scenarios of our carrier partners. By leveraging this “controlled tower” approach to offering more significant risk limit means that we are one of very few industry providers that delivers a single point-of-service proposition for wholesale brokerage customers seeking to efficiently control entire risk placements with one partner.
